IN SHORT :
Leapmotor calls this a C-hatchback, but through my clear frames, I see a masterclass in optimization. The B05 is built on a Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) architecture. For those still living in the era of body-on-frame fossils, this means the battery is the structure. It’s elegant. It’s lean. It creates a torsional stiffness of 34,500 Nm/°, giving the car a rigidity that would make a Swiss watchmaker nod in quiet approval.
At a starting price of 26,900€, one might expect a compromise in the telemetry.
One would be wrong.

The silhouette is a wide-body, coupe-inspired wedge with a drag coefficient of 0.26. It cuts through the air like a discarded scalpel. Frameless doors and hidden handles provide that "Space-Age" cleanliness I crave, while the 19-inch aerodynamic alloys look like they were pulled straight from a 1975 concept sketch by Syd Mead.

Under the skin, the B05 is a rear-wheel-drive purist’s plaything disguised as a sensible commuter. With 218 horsepower (160 kW) and 240 Nm of torque, it doesn't just accelerate; it translates. Zero to 100 km/h happens in 6.7 seconds—a staccato burst of energy that feels faster because it is immediate.
Stellantis’ global chassis team handled the tuning, and they’ve managed a 50:50 weight distribution that defies the usual "heavy battery" physics. On the flowing hill roads above the valley, the multi-link rear suspension communicated with a precision that even Jim might—begrudgingly—call "soulful."

Inside, the B05 abandons the cluttered "button-chaos" of the 20th century. The dual-screen cockpit (a 14.6-inch infotainment slab paired with an 8.8-inch cluster) is the command center. It’s fast, intuitive, and powered by Leapmotor’s latest OS. It feels less like a dashboard and more like a flight deck.
The 67.1 kWh battery variant, boasting a 482 km WLTP range. But the real data point that matters? The 17-minute sprint. That’s the time it takes to go from 30% to 80% charge. In the time it takes Jim to find his misplaced 10mm wrench, I’ve gained another 200 kilometers of electric freedom.

The B05 is a calculated gamble. It targets a generation that values the "Era of Intelligent Speed"—those who want a car that feels like a software update for their life. It’s sporty, yes, but it’s a cerebral kind of sportiness.
Leapmotor is proving that "affordable" doesn't have to mean "anonymous." They’ve built a sporty electric ecosystem that fits into the modern world without the baggage of the internal combustion era.
The future is approaching fast—don’t blink.
